Introduction

The essential mission of the network of FIU is to contribute to development of ideas, knowledge and techniques in the field of management, social sciences and NTIC.

The doctorate validates 3 to 4 years of solid research corroborated by publications.

Doctoral studies

Recruitment is based on a Master Degree (High School Diploma + 5 years). Inscription is carried out at the following conditions:

• An application letter signed by a Research Supervisor
• Payment of registration fees

The studies last 3 years minimum:

• The first year is devoted to research formation and preparation of a thesis project, which is performed at the end of the year. It is approved by MBA or MSCSdiploma, with a specialization certificate.
• The other two years are dedicated to :
  
  • •  Preparation of the thesis (theory, model, methodology, research protocol)
  • •  Empiric work (collecting data, interviews, questionnaires, analyses and tests, observation)
  • •  Thesis revision
  • •  Defense of the thesis

Different domains of EIU Doctorate specialization are foreseen :

Strategy and Management, Finance, Marketing, Human Resources and Organizations, NTIC, Tourism.

Research workshops and seminaries are programmed and included into this period. Every year the candidate must validated his/her progress with his/her Research Supervisor.

Thesis Defense

The network of FIU (Free Intercontinental University) Doctoral School Director’s authorization for thesis defense is obligatory. It can be obtained after a works examination of a candidate has been appreciated by two independent reporters. The Jury, designed by the FIU President, consists of a Thesis Director and at least 3 other specialists chosen due to their scientific competence.

A PhD title is conferred with the following mentions:

• Honorable
• Very honorable
• Jury’s appreciation
• Thesis publication
